Why other reminder systems fail

Calendars and spreadsheets work for the first month. Then life happens.

Calendar reminders go stale

You manually copy a date into Google Calendar once a year, forget what it refers to, and dismiss the alert before it sinks in. Renewal missed.

Email reminders get buried

Your insurer sends a reminder six weeks out and again three days before. Both land in a folder you never check. The policy auto-renews 8 percent more expensive.

Spreadsheets only work for a month

You started a tracker in a notes app. You opened it twice. The MOT is now overdue and the car insurance lapsed last week.

How it works

1

Upload or forward by email

Drag a PDF in, snap a photo on your phone, or forward an email straight to your Orlo address. Works the same way every time.

2

AI reads the document for you

Orlo figures out what the document is, pulls out the key dates, supplier, amount, and reference numbers. You do not have to type anything.

3

Reminders set automatically

For each document, Orlo suggests the right reminders. Six weeks, two weeks, three days before a renewal. Accept them with one tap.

What makes Orlo different

Email and push

Reminders land both in your inbox and on your phone. You only need to see one to remember.

Weekly digest

A short email every Monday with everything coming up that week. No need to log in to know where you stand.

Tailored to the document

A passport reminder fires 9 months out. An MOT 6 weeks. A broadband contract 30 days before the end of the minimum term. The right warning for the right document.

Price change alerts

If this year's renewal is more expensive than last year's, Orlo flags it before you pay. Catch sneaky increases before they auto-renew.

Works with email forwarding

Forward bills, renewals, and confirmations to your personal Orlo address and they file themselves. No copy-paste, no manual entry.

Private and UK-hosted

Your documents are stored encrypted in the EU. Only you can access them. No selling data, no ads.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of documents can Orlo remind me about?
Insurance renewals, MOT certificates, vehicle tax, passports, driving licences, utility bills, broadband contracts, mobile contracts, subscriptions, warranties, tax deadlines, invoices, and travel bookings. Fifteen document types in total, each with its own reminder logic.
How far in advance do reminders fire?
It depends on the document. Insurance and MOT reminders are sent 6 weeks, 2 weeks, and 3 days before expiry. Passports get a 9 month, 6 month, and 3 month warning. Bills get a 7 day and 1 day notice. You can adjust or add reminders manually if you prefer.
How does it know what the document is?
Orlo uses an AI extractor to read every document you upload. It identifies the document type, pulls out the dates, supplier, amount, and reference numbers, then files it under the right category. You only review and accept what it suggests.
Do I need to enter dates manually?
No. The whole point of Orlo is that you do not. Upload or forward the original document and Orlo reads it for you. If anything is wrong, you can edit it once and the reminder updates.
How do I get reminded?
Reminders are sent by email on every plan, and by push notification if you have the iOS or Android app installed. You also get a Monday morning digest email summarising everything coming up.
Is it really free?
The free plan includes 5 uploads per month, enough for a couple of insurance renewals and an MOT. Basic is £2.99 per month for 50 uploads and email forwarding. Pro is £7.99 per month for 250 uploads with workspaces and sharing.
How is this different to a calendar reminder?
A calendar reminder is a date on a screen. Orlo links the reminder to the actual document, with the policy details, the supplier phone number, and the price. When the reminder fires, the document is one tap away. And Orlo will tell you if this year is more expensive than last year, which a calendar cannot.
