Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Orlo (available at getorlo.app), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Orlo is operated by Mearovate (mearovate.cloud). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the service.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Mearovate ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Orlo platform and all related services.

2. Description of Service

Orlo is a secure AI-powered document assistant that enables users to upload, scan, and extract key information from documents. The service includes, but is not limited to:

  • AI-powered document scanning and data extraction
  • Organised storage and management of uploaded documents
  • Automated reminders for key dates such as renewals and expiry dates
  • A searchable, structured overview of your document portfolio

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

To use Orlo, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary to keep it accurate and complete.

You must notify us immediately at hello@getorlo.app if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Orlo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

  • Upload, store, or process any documents that are illegal, fraudulent, or obtained without proper authorisation
  • Use the service to facilitate any illegal activity or to violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, other users' accounts, or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to access the service in a manner that exceeds reasonable usage
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

The Orlo platform, including its design, code, features, logos, and branding, is the intellectual property of Mearovate and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the platform without our prior written consent.

You retain full ownership of all documents you upload to Orlo and any data contained within them. By uploading documents, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and analyse those documents solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

6. Data Processing and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

By using Orlo, you consent to the processing of your documents by our AI systems for the purpose of data extraction and analysis. Documents are processed securely and are not shared with unauthorised third parties. For full details on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

7. Subscription and Billing

Orlo offers a free tier with limited features and usage allowances. Paid plans are available for users who require additional capacity and features.

Paid subscriptions include a 14-day free trial period. During the trial, you will have full access to the features of your chosen plan. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and you will be charged accordingly.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your chosen plan) and will auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to paid features until that date.

8. Refund Policy

If you cancel a paid subscription partway through a billing period, you may be eligible for a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your subscription. Refund requests should be directed to hello@getorlo.app and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

No refunds are available for the 14-day free trial period. If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged, but no refund will be issued for any period of the trial already used.

9. Limitation of Liability

Orlo uses artificial intelligence to extract information from documents. While we strive for high accuracy, AI-powered extraction is provided on a best-effort basis and is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. You are responsible for reviewing all extracted data and verifying its correctness before relying on it for any purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mearovate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Orlo service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information extracted from your documents by our AI systems.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete individual documents from Orlo at any time through the platform. Deleted documents and their associated extracted data will be permanently removed from our active systems.

If you choose to delete your account, all of your data, including uploaded documents, extracted information, account details, and preferences, will be permanently deleted. Backups may be retained for up to 30 days following account deletion for disaster recovery purposes, after which they will be purged.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the platform.

Your continued use of Orlo after the revised terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should stop using the service and delete your account.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
