Why the contract end date is worth more than it seems

You keep paying for the handset after it is paid off

Many mobile contracts bundle the cost of the phone into the monthly price. Once that is paid off, staying on the same plan often means paying the same amount for just the airtime.

24-month contracts are easy to lose track of

Two years is a long time between thinking about a contract you set up once and mostly forgot about since.

Upgrading is not always the best move either

The end of a contract is a good moment to actually compare staying, upgrading, or switching network, rather than defaulting to whatever your provider suggests.

How it works

1

Upload your contract or order confirmation

Orlo reads the provider and contract end date from the agreement or confirmation email.

2

Accept the reminders

Reminders are suggested at 6 weeks, 2 weeks, and 3 days before your contract ends.

3

Decide with options in front of you

Compare a SIM-only deal, a new handset, or simply ask your existing provider what they can offer to keep you.

Three reminders before it renews

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out when my phone contract ends?
Check your original contract paperwork, order confirmation email, or your account on your provider's app or website. Upload whichever document you have and Orlo extracts the end date.
What if my contract does not clearly state an end date?
If Orlo can see a start date but not an explicit end date, it assumes a standard 24-month term, which is the most common length for mobile contracts, and you can correct this if yours is different.
Should I switch to SIM-only once my contract ends?
If you are happy with your current handset, a SIM-only deal is usually significantly cheaper than staying on a plan that still includes handset repayments you have already finished paying off. It is worth comparing at the point your contract ends either way.
Does this work for business mobile contracts too?
Yes. If you manage a business workspace separately from personal documents, business mobile contracts can be tracked there in exactly the same way.
Can Orlo track my broadband contract as well?
Yes, broadband has its own dedicated reminder page, using the same approach.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan includes 5 uploads a month. Basic is £2.99 a month for 50 uploads with every feature unlocked.
