Setting Up Email Forwarding
Basic and Pro plans get a personal Orlo email address for every workspace, in the form your.name@mail.getorlo.app. Forward any receipt, bill, or renewal notice to it and Orlo imports the attachment, runs the same AI extraction as a manual upload, and files it automatically — usually within a few seconds.
What gets accepted
PDF and image attachments (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) up to 20MB each, a maximum of 3 attachments per email. Orlo checks the actual file contents match the claimed type, not just the filename, so something renamed to look like a PDF won't slip through. Anything else — executables, scripts, archives — is rejected.
Who can send to it
Only addresses on your verified-senders list. Your own sign-in email is added automatically, and you can add others — a partner's email, a work address — from the workspace's settings. Anything forwarded from an address that isn't on the list is silently dropped, so there's no way for a stranger to spam your inbox even if they somehow learn your Orlo address.
It counts towards your upload limit
Forwarded attachments use the same monthly upload quota as manual uploads (5 on Free, 50 on Basic, 250 on Pro — though Free doesn't get email forwarding at all). If you hit your limit partway through the month, Orlo pauses importing and emails you rather than silently failing, and picks back up automatically on the 1st.
If you need to stop it
You can regenerate your address to a fresh random string at any time from workspace settings — the old address stops accepting mail immediately. Downgrading to Free disables forwarding entirely until you upgrade again, though your existing documents stay exactly where they are.
Automating it further
Most email providers let you set up a filter that auto-forwards matching messages (for example, anything from your energy supplier) to your Orlo address without you lifting a finger. We're working on one-click filter templates for Gmail and Outlook — see the roadmap for progress.
